The rental of PPE is becoming more and more complex. In the commercial sector, the use and maintenance of PPE are clearly regulated by the legislator. Anyone who provides PPE for a fee or free of charge is responsible for the perfect condition of the equipment. It must be checked regularly and its use documented. This is associated with a high time and cost. This is exactly where we want to help climbing gyms, adventure parks, high ropes courses, training centres, fire brigades and maintenance companies.
This is why EDELRID developed a unique new concept. It’s a combination of PPE training, PPE documentation and PPE user app. Our Gear Pilot app covers three main areas. It’s a comprehensive tool for products to PPE register, PPE manage and PPE inspect. The EDELRID Gear Pilot will save you time and money, but also bring additional transparency to your processes.
For use in the rental sector, the Gear Pilot allows quick and effective management of PPE products. Products are individually entered using an RFID scanner (available from specialist retailers) to scan their serial numbers. For equipment without RFID-technology, we can retrofit different RFID transponders to your equipment.
You already have a checkout system or access system with RFID? No problem – our app is highly flexible. Our transponders are compatible with all RFID systems (860 – 960MHz).
The Gear Pilot app makes it possible to produce comprehensive reports, for example regarding use cycles or the status of a particular product. There is an alarm function to announce the next PPE inspection. And the app simultaneously provides a list of all certified PPE inspection centres near you.
The Gear Pilot’s PPE area is activated once the user has successfully completed EDELRID DGUV 312-906 training. Here, the user is taken step-by-step through the inspection instructions. You receive instructions and guidelines for visual inspections, functional inspections and details of smaller repair measures. You can carry out PPE inspections and generate product data sheets and inspection records. All information is centrally stored and can be accessed anywhere, anytime.
The Know How area provides all important information about PPE products. From labelling to standards and inspections, there are detailed answers to all questions.
As a manufacturer of PPE equipment, we are aware of our responsibility. With the Gear Pilot, we want to make users’ lives easier and the PPE sector safer.
